Yellowstone

We spent 3 days at Fishing Bridge Campground in Yellowstone National Park.  We enjoyed our stay in Yellowstone.  We saw beautiful scenery, Bison, Elk and geese.  Linda and I hiked a trail by the lake. Here are a few pictures of the area.

A bull elk feeding along the meadow. He did not lift his head, but you can see that he was beautiful.

Ducks in the water at one of the rapids.

The Bison were plentiful, and there were a lot of calves too.

We have seen a lot of geese in different places on our trip.

We visited the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and it is very much like the Grand Canyon, but on a smaller scale.

I believe this was the lower falls.

A common occurrence in Yellowstone when an animal is spotted.

The next few pictures are of our drive to Steamboat Point along Yellowstone Lake.

This picture is from Inspiration Point overlooking the lake.

This is from our drive over to Lamar Valley, which is in the northeast park of the park. There were a lot of Bison in this area but they were too far away for my camera to do them justice.  Fantastic to see them.

There was a lot of snow still on the mountains.  I believe at this area we were over 8000 feet.

As you can see from the next two pictures Linda and I were ready to hike.  We had a good time and it was a good walk.

Part of the trail.

A view of the trail, lake and mountains.

There were several of these guy playing in the grass and along the shore of the lake.  The are marmots.
