More Wyoming, Nebraska

When we left Yellowstone National Park we drove out the eastern entrance through Cody, Wyoming to Thermopolis, Wyoming.  On the way we stopped at the Buffalo Bill Dam just west of Cody.  This is a very scenic drive along the river, through canyons and over the mountains. After Thermopolis we stayed at Scottsbluff, Nebraska.  Here are a few pictures of those days.

This is the Buffalo Bill Dam outside of Cody, Wyoming. The dam is located on the Shoshone River.

The tunnel right after you leave the visitors center at the dam.

This limb broke off and fell on the back of the truck while we were at the Eagle RV Park in Thermopolis, WY.  No damage was done to the truck.

Our site at Eagle RV.  The sites were close but we made it in okay.  The folks that run this park are very nice.
Went to the Dinosaur center, nice displays and information, a lot of old bones!  LOL

When we left Thermopolis we drove south through the Wind River Canyon, very scenic drive also.

We are still having a great time.

While we were at Scottsbluff, Nebraska we visited Chimney Rock and Scotts Bluff.  Both sites and some others stand out in this other wise flat land.  They were land marks that the wagon train travelers could see for miles.

Did not stray off the path.

Next three pictures are of other formation near by.

This is the tunnel we drove through to get to the top of Scotts Bluff, we were told it is the only tunnel for cars in Nebraska.

This tunnel is on the hiking trail that goes to the top of Scotts Bluff.

This is the inland lighthouse on Lake Minatare.  This is at the campground we stayed at in Nebraska.
