End of Trip

After we left New Orleans we traveled on to Florida with a lunch time stop in Foley Alabama to eat at Lambert's Cafe.  They really have some good food, and it is a lot of fun to eat there.  After that we stayed at Blackwater River State Park, Falling Water State Park, Suwanee River State Park and Manatee Springs State Park (all in Florida). We arrive home on July 22.  It was a great trip with some great scenery and wildlife viewing.  We enjoyed Canada except for the high cost of everything.  Jasper National Part was beautiful.  If you ever get the chance drive along the Oregon/California coast, drive from East Yellowstone to Cody Wyoming, drive from Thermopolis Wyoming through the Wind Canyon area , drive from Lake Louise, Alberta to Revelstoke, British Columbia, drive the Needles Highway in Custer State Park, these are just a few of my favorites.
Here are a few pictures of Cedar Key and the deer at Manatee Springs.

New Orleans and then going home.

Since my last post we have traveled from Sioux Falls to New Orleans.  Tomorrow we head east to Florida.  We will be going by Foley, Alabama to eat at Lambert's Restaurant. While here in New Orleans we to a Hop On/Hop Off tour bus to see the sights.   Here are a few pictures of our stay at New Orleans.
This is the Basin St Station of the Southern Railroad, which is now the Hop On Hop Off starting point.

This is the Jimmy John's owed by Drew Brees.  We ate lunch there.

Some of the ironwork on the buildings.

A gargoyle on the chimney to ward off evil spirits.

The entrance to Mardi Gras World.  We went there but did not do the tour.

Bridges over the Mississippi River downtown on the riverfront.

This is a piece of art work made from Hurricane Katrina debris.  It is a house in a tree showing what happened in the Lower 9th Ward.

The tallest building in Louisiana, 52 stories tall.  One Shell Square

Don't remember what street this was.

Some of the homes.

The house in the tree again.

New outlet mall that just opened on the river.

Sioux Falls

A few pictures of Sioux Falls at Falls Park in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  Beautiful park on the Big Sioux River and falls.

Corn Palace, Mitchell, South Dakota

On our way across South Dakota, we stopped in Mitchell to see the Corn Palace.  We were a little disappointed because they were renovating it, but here are a few pictures of the murals that were on the outside and inside.
